Grain Valley Schools is seeking energetic, dependable, and caring individuals to join our Valley Kids Eagles Camp Summer Program team. Valley Kids provides a fun, engaging, and safe environment for elementary-aged students during the summer months through games, enrichment activities, special events, field trips, and outdoor play.

This part-time position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and are looking for approximately 10–15 hours per week during July and August.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage groups of elementary-aged students in a variety of activities and settings.
• Create a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for all participants.
• Assist with organizing and leading age-appropriate games, crafts, enrichment activities, and outdoor recreation.
• Actively participate in activities and encourage student involvement.
• Support students during field trips, special events, and daily camp activities.
• Monitor student behavior and implement program expectations in a positive and consistent manner.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and fellow staff members.
• Assist with serving snacks and maintaining clean activity spaces.
• Follow all Valley Kids and Grain Valley Schools policies and procedures regarding student supervision and safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Coordinator or Program Director.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in a camp, childcare, educational, recreational, or youth program setting preferred.
• Genuine enthusiasm for working with elementary-aged children.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and coworkers.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to remain active throughout the workday, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and participating in outdoor activities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Must be flexible and willing to assist in various aspects of camp programming.

Work Schedule

• Part-time position averaging 10–15 hours per week.
• Eagles Camp operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
• Staff schedules may vary based on program enrollment and operational needs.
• Position runs July 1 through August 19.
• Occasional field trips, special events, and full-day programming activities may be included as part of scheduled shifts.
